Toyota has announced the 2027 Camry for the US market, continuing with an exclusively hybrid powertrain, distinctive styling and a choice of five variants. The latest model-year update retains the existing feature package while offering buyers a mix of comfort-oriented and sportier versions.

The ninth-generation Camry will be available in LE, SE, Nightshade, XLE and XSE trims. Both front-wheel drive (FWD) and Electronic On-Demand all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations will be offered across the range.

2027 Toyota Camry: Hybrid Engine and Performance

The 2027 Camry is powered by Toyota’s fifth-generation Hybrid System (THS 5), combining a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor.

The hybrid system produces a combined output of 225 hp in front-wheel-drive versions, while AWD models deliver 232 hp. Power is managed by an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT).

Toyota estimates a fuel economy rating of 51 mpg combined for the LE FWD variant, highlighting efficiency as a key part of the Camry’s appeal.

The available AWD system uses an electric motor on the rear axle to distribute torque according to driving conditions, helping improve traction and stability when required.

Sporty Styling with Five Variants

The 2027 Camry continues with the model’s distinctive hammerhead-inspired front design, complemented by LED headlights and daytime running lights across the range.

The LE and XLE focus on a more understated appearance, while the SE and XSE feature sportier exterior details, including sport-mesh grilles, black accents and rear spoilers. The SE gets 18-inch black-finished alloy wheels, while the XSE features 19-inch black and smoke-grey alloy wheels.

The Nightshade variant adopts a darker theme, with gloss-black badging, Midnight Black Metallic exterior accents and unique 19-inch wheels.

Buyers can choose from exterior colours including Ocean Gem, Heavy Metal, Ice Cap, Supersonic Red, Reservoir Blue and Midnight Black Metallic, although availability varies by variant.

Interior and Technology Features

Inside, the Camry offers different cabin treatments depending on the trim. The LE features fabric upholstery, while the SE and Nightshade get SofTex-trimmed seats with sporty accents. The XLE combines leather and Dinamica microfiber, whereas the XSE features leather-trimmed upholstery.

Available comfort features include heated and ventilated front seats, power-adjustable front seats and a panoramic roof with a retractable sunshade on select variants.

The infotainment system features an 8-inch touchscreen as standard, with a larger 12.3-inch display available on select trims. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging and five USB ports are standard across the lineup.

The XLE and XSE also offer a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, with a 10-inch head-up display available as an option.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 comes standard on the 2027 Camry. The package includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, Automatic High Beams and Proactive Driving Assist.

Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are also standard. Higher trims can be equipped with a Premium Plus Package that adds features such as Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, Front Cross-Traffic Alert and a Panoramic View Monitor.

2027 Toyota Camry Price and Launch Timeline

Toyota has announced a starting MSRP of $29,700 for the 2027 Camry in the United States, excluding dealer processing and handling charges. The model is expected to reach Toyota dealerships in the US in autumn 2026.

The sedan will continue to be assembled at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky in Georgetown, Kentucky.

For now, the announcement concerns the US-market model. Toyota has not announced India-specific pricing or availability for the 2027 Camry in this release.

With its hybrid-only powertrain, multiple styling options and extensive technology package, the 2027 Camry continues to target buyers seeking a balance of efficiency, comfort and everyday performance.
