Mini Cooper Gets a Union Jack Makeover in New Oxford Edition

Team ET October 18, 2026 2 min read

Mini India has launched the Cooper Oxford Edition at ₹55.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The special edition celebrates 25 years of modern Mini production at the brand’s Oxford plant in the United Kingdom and gets a series of design updates inspired by its British heritage.

Based on the Cooper S, the Oxford Edition retains the familiar three-door hatchback silhouette but adds exclusive exterior and interior details. The model will be available in limited numbers.

Union Jack-inspired exterior design

The Mini Cooper Oxford Edition will be offered in two colour options: Indigo Sunset Blue and Chilli Red. Its most distinctive feature is the Union Jack graphic on the roof, accompanied by red-and-white stripes running from the front grille to the rear of the car.

The special edition also gets white outside rear-view mirror housings and exclusive 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with blue-and-red centre caps. A crossed-flags sticker on the bootlid further distinguishes it from the standard Cooper S.

The changes are largely cosmetic, with Mini retaining the model’s signature circular LED headlamps, compact proportions and familiar design.

Exclusive details inside the cabin

Inside, the Oxford Edition features black John Cooper Works-spec seats and several Union Jack-inspired elements.

The steering wheel and floor mats feature Union Jack logos, while the door sills receive blue-and-red Oxford branding. The steering wheel base, key fob and 9.4-inch circular infotainment touchscreen also get flag-inspired design details.

The overall dashboard layout and grey-beige cabin colour scheme remain unchanged, with the special edition focusing on subtle additions rather than a complete interior redesign.

Engine and performance

Power comes from the Cooper S’s 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which produces 204hp and 300Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, with power sent to the front wheels.

Mini claims a 0–100kph acceleration time of 6.6 seconds and fuel efficiency of 16.82kpl.

There are no mechanical changes over the standard Cooper S. The Oxford Edition instead focuses on exclusive styling and commemorative details.

Mini Cooper Oxford Edition price in India

The Mini Cooper Oxford Edition is priced at ₹55.5 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be sold in limited numbers.

With its distinctive graphics, exclusive alloy wheels and Oxford-specific cabin details, the special edition offers buyers a more individual version of the Cooper S without altering its performance credentials.
