Royal Enfield has launched a special anniversary edition of the Classic 650 in India to mark 125 years of the brand. Called the Classic 650 Hypershift 125th Anniversary Edition, the motorcycle is priced at ₹4,25,589 (ex-showroom) and will be available in limited numbers.

The special edition stands out with its colour-changing paintwork, gold detailing and exclusive anniversary elements. Unlike a conventional new model, however, the changes are primarily cosmetic, with the motorcycle retaining the same engine and mechanical setup as the standard Classic 650.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Gets Colour-Changing Paint

The biggest highlight of the anniversary edition is its new Hypershift paint finish. Depending on the lighting and viewing angle, the motorcycle’s bodywork shifts between shades of red, green and gold.

The finish draws inspiration from the brass tones of Royal Enfield’s early motorcycles dating back to 1901. The paintwork covers the fuel tank, side panels, mudguards and headlamp nacelle, giving the familiar Classic 650 a distinctive appearance.

Other design details include hand-painted pinstripes around the black section of the fuel tank, a commemorative cannon decal and a gold-finished 125th anniversary crest on the side panel. The motorcycle also gets a brown leather seat with quilted stitching, adding to its retro appeal.

The overall design retains the Classic 650’s familiar styling, including its teardrop-shaped fuel tank, rounded headlamp, wire-spoke wheels and twin exhausts finished in black.

Same 648cc Engine as the Standard Classic 650

The anniversary edition does not receive any mechanical upgrades. It continues to use Royal Enfield’s 647.95cc parallel-twin engine, producing 47 PS at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm of peak torque at 5,650 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox.

The motorcycle comes with telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS.

Features include an LED headlamp, LED tail lamp and a USB Type-C charging port. The motorcycle also retains its traditional riding position and classic roadster proportions.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Anniversary Edition: Price and Availability

Priced at ₹4,25,589 (ex-showroom), the Hypershift edition commands a premium over the regular Classic 650 range. Its limited production run is likely to appeal to Royal Enfield enthusiasts and collectors looking for something different from the standard motorcycle.

In India, only 125 units will be available. Registrations opened on October 16, 2026, through the Drop Zone section of the Royal Enfield app. The sale is scheduled for October 28, 2026, at 7 pm IST, with deliveries expected to begin in November.

With its distinctive paint finish and anniversary-specific detailing, the Classic 650 Hypershift focuses on exclusivity rather than additional performance. For buyers who appreciate Royal Enfield’s heritage and the Classic’s retro styling, this limited edition offers a more distinctive take on the existing 650cc motorcycle.
