BMW F 450 RR Revealed: A 48 HP Supersport Bike Built for the Road and Track
BMW Motorrad has unveiled the new F 450 RR, a lightweight supersport motorcycle developed for riders who enjoy sporty performance, precise handling and the thrill of riding on winding roads. The new model expands the BMW F 450 family and brings the brand’s RR design and riding experience to the 48 hp class.
The F 450 RR takes design inspiration from the larger BMW S 1000 RR, with an aggressive front end, a raised tail, distinctive winglets and asymmetrical fairing panels. BMW has developed it as a dedicated supersport motorcycle, with particular attention to weight, chassis geometry and riding dynamics.

BMW F 450 RR Gets a 420cc Twin-Cylinder Engine
Powering the new BMW F 450 RR is a liquid-cooled, 420cc parallel-twin engine producing 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. BMW says 80 per cent of the engine’s maximum torque is available at 3,000 rpm, helping deliver strong acceleration at lower engine speeds.
The engine features a 135-degree crankpin offset, which gives it distinctive firing intervals and contributes to its sound and power delivery. A balance shaft helps reduce vibrations, while the stainless-steel underfloor exhaust system adds to the motorcycle’s character.
Power is sent to the rear wheel through a six-speed gearbox and chain drive. BMW claims a fuel consumption figure of 3.8 litres per 100 km. With a 14-litre fuel tank, the motorcycle has a calculated range of more than 350 km.

Designed for Sporty Riding
The BMW F 450 RR uses a tubular steel space frame, with the engine serving as a load-bearing element. Its chassis has been specifically tuned for supersport riding, with a focus on agile handling, precise feedback and stability.
The motorcycle gets a 43mm KYB upside-down front fork and a rear KYB central spring strut. The Sport suspension, available on the Sport and M Sport variants, allows adjustment of rebound and compression damping at the front.
It rides on 17-inch cast-aluminium wheels, with 110/70-17 front and 150/60-17 rear tyres. Braking is handled by a 310mm front disc with a Brembo four-piston caliper and a 240mm rear disc with a ByBre caliper.
BMW lists the ready-to-ride weight at 177kg, increasing to 178kg with the Easy Ride Clutch. The standard seat height is 790mm.

Easy Ride Clutch and Rider Assistance Features
One of the notable features is the optional Easy Ride Clutch (ERC). It automatically engages the clutch according to engine speed, making riding more convenient in stop-and-go traffic and during low-speed manoeuvres.
When combined with Shift Assistant Pro, the system allows the rider to ride and change gears without manually operating the clutch lever during regular riding. The clutch lever remains available whenever the rider wants to intervene.
The motorcycle comes with Rain, Road and Race riding modes, along with BMW Motorrad ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control, Dynamic Traction Control and engine drag torque control. These systems are designed to help the rider maintain control under different riding conditions.
Riding Modes Pro adds a configurable Race Pro mode, allowing further adjustment of throttle response, traction control and ABS. This feature is included with the M Sport variants and is available as an accessory for the other versions.

Four Variants of the BMW F 450 RR
BMW Motorrad will offer the F 450 RR in four equipment variants: Base, Sport, M Sport and M Sport with Innovation Package.
The Base variant comes in Cosmic Black. The Sport version gets Racing Red paintwork, Shift Assistant Pro and Sport suspension. The M Sport models feature the Snaefell White and M Motorsport colour scheme, along with Riding Modes Pro, Shift Assistant Pro and Sport suspension.
The M Sport with Innovation Package additionally includes the Easy Ride Clutch.
Standard equipment across the range includes heated grips, LED lighting, a 6.5-inch TFT display, smartphone connectivity and a USB-C charging port. M Sport variants equipped with Riding Modes Pro also get additional display screens with riding information and a lap timer.

BMW F 450 RR: What to Expect
With its 48 hp engine, 177kg ready-to-ride weight and supersport-specific chassis, the BMW F 450 RR focuses on delivering an engaging riding experience rather than simply chasing higher power figures. Its combination of rider assistance systems, optional clutch technology and four equipment variants also gives buyers different ways to configure the motorcycle.
BMW Motorrad has detailed the motorcycle’s specifications and equipment, but the announcement does not provide an India launch date or pricing.
